How your personal data is kept safe.
Protecting your privacy is central to EonVPN. This policy sets out which information we collect, what we do with it and the rights you hold over your data. Using EonVPN means you accept the practices outlined below.
Account information: Signing up for a free EonVPN account means we store your email address and a hashed copy of your password. They serve only to authenticate your account and to deliver essential service messages. Your email address is never sold to or shared with third parties.
VPN usage data: EonVPN follows a strict zero-logs policy. We keep no record of your browsing history, the sites you visit, what you communicate, your original IP address, the IP of the VPN server you use or how long your sessions last. None of this is ever written to our servers.
Bandwidth sharing: If you take part in the optional bandwidth-sharing programme, we gather anonymised network statistics (bytes transferred and connection timestamps) to handle billing and prevent abuse. All personally identifiable details are removed, so the data can't be traced back to your account.
Cookies: Our website sets only the cookies it strictly needs for sessions and security. Tracking and advertising cookies are not used. You can turn cookies off in your browser without any effect on how the VPN works.
Data retention: Your account email is kept while the account stays active. At any time you can ask for your account and all related data to be deleted by writing to support@eonvpn.com, and we complete such requests within 30 days.
Third-party services: EonVPN never shares, sells or rents your personal data to third parties for marketing. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may go to infrastructure providers, purely so the service can be run and improved.
Changes to this policy: If we make a material change to this Privacy Policy, registered users get an email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Carrying on with EonVPN after that date means you accept the updated policy.
